John Shearman, who has been a member of the Friends’ committee for over 14 years, is retiring from both the committee and from his role as treasurer.


John, a former head teacher in Peterborough has served the orchestra well and could usually be seen at concerts with display boards in the QKA atrium, encouraging folks to join the Friends. John also organised the raffle at the Friends concert in December for several years.


Kevin Wilde remains as chairman and Hilary Keegan as membership secretary. having responsibility for the sale of Friends’ concert tickets, refreshments and seat reservations for people with mobility issues. Other Friends committee members are Mary Boyall, Neil Carrington, Sue Paine and Elaine Stapleford.
