Soak up the jazzy rhythms and poignant lyrical melodies of Bernstein’s West Side Story suite. Imagine a rocking chair outside the porch of your house in Knoxville, Tennessee, with Barber’s lovely picture of a gentle Summer day there in 1915. Get into Cowboy mode with Copland’s Rodeo, surely the epitome of music expressing the wild West. Finally, join Gershwin on his visit to Paris – NY regular guy meets European sophisticate.
