City of Peterborough Symphony Orchestra bring you a bright and cheery concert near the start of the year, and what better way to celebrate than with a programme of Viennese music featuring everybody’s favourite composers, Mozart and the Waltz King Johann Strauss the younger.  Strauss concerts are the highlight of the Viennese New Year and the City of Peterborough Symphony Orchestra aspires to emulate that tradition.  The orchestra will be directed by our Principal Violinist and Leader, Angus Gibbon, in the style of Johann Strauss himself!  Also to further brighten up the event, popular arias by Mozart and Strauss from the world of light opera sung by international singing star, Rita Cullis.  Come along and tell us if you want this to be the new tradition for Peterborough!

Symphony No 3, The Eroica

What could be better than an evening in the company of Ludwig van Beethoven in three of his greatest works ably conducted by Russell Keable?  The clarion calls of the trumpet fanfares in Overture Leonora No 3 lead into the quietly revolutionary but excitingly taut 4th Piano Concerto. The Eroica Symphony was epoch making in its time because of its sheer length and fantastic depth of emotion.  If you have not yet heard the tragic funeral march in the middle of the symphony you have missed one of the most heart wrenching pieces of music ever written.  Join us to hear this epic work at the Broadway
