This was a terrific
way to spend a summer afternoon; in the
company of the City of Peterborough Symphony Orchestra under the baton of
Russell Keable in the magnificent Broadway Theatre! CPSO will kicked off
with a Smetana’s lively “Bartered Bride” overture , and then CPSO winged its sprightly way in the company
of the talented virtuoso, Katy Smith, who performed Mendelssohn’s
Violin Concerto. It finished with Dvorak’s sunny 6th Symphony,
ideal for reflecting the relaxed liveliness of the season and to be the
perfect prelude to the cool of the summer evening. |
