Peterborough Summer Festival Concert: The "Getting to know Gershwin" Prom

Conductor Christopher Gayford
Soprano Soloist Marian Porter
Guest Interviewer Anthony Grunwell

City of Peterborough Symphony Orchestra brings you a prom concert with a twist.  This brings your favourite “Last Night” features, but joins it with a unique opportunity to get “up close and personal” with Gershwin’s “American in Paris” in the company of well known local showman, Anthony E Grunwell and maestro Chris Gayford.  Chris’ unique chat show format is an unbeatable way to find out how Gershwin’s brilliant and energetic masterpiece ticks, as he is interviewed by Anthony who will get to the bottom of what you want to know about.  Don’t expect to just watch the show, since Chris is famous for expecting and getting audience participation to really get under the skin of this music.

Coupled with Gershwin songs, such as “Summertime” and “Love is here to stay” sung by talented Soprano Marian Porter and including the opportunity to sing your hearts out and wave your flags in the Last Night favourites, this will be a unique and exciting open air orchestral concert.  See you there!
