The City of Peterborough Symphony Orchestra brings you an outstanding concert featuring two great English composers and the wonderful Dvorak Cello Concerto. After his very great success last year with us in the Elgar Cello Concerto, we couldn’t resist asking the fantastic Tim Gill to join us again in the greatest cello concerto of them all. This heartachingly beautiful evocation of the Czech hills and valleys is enormously popular and we know that it will be a big hit.
The Orchestra are delighted to be performing this concert at The Voyager School. With probably the best acoustics for an orchestral performance in Peterborough, CPSO firmly believes that the Voyager School Hall will become the premier venue for classical music in the city.
Paul Hilliam again conducts the City of Peterborough Symphony and brings the drama of the Battle of Britain to life with Walton’s stirring Spitfire Prelude and Fugue. Vaughan-Williams’ London Symphony (Symphony No 2) ends the programme with a musical portrait of a great city, with its evocation of London mists, street sellers cries and the sense of the vibrant powerful heartbeat at the centre of the British Empire in the early 20th Century . Tickets:- £12.00 Full, £10.00 Concession, Accompanied Children FREE. Tickets available from the Tourist Information Centre or at the door.
